I’m Jiffy. I will be 9 years old in just a couple of days. I’ve lived with Mama, Daddy Harve, and Gigi for 8 months. During one race I broke my front leg which retired me from racing. For 6 years I lived in a forever home with Pancho, then for reasons unknown our owners surrendered us to the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas (GALT). Pancho was adopted immediately. I went to live in a foster home with Miss Jackie, Vinny and da Princess Toolip (who are both greyhounds) for four weeks. Mama found me on the GALT web site and asked if she could meet me to see if I would like for them to be my forever home. They all came to Miss Jackie’s home one day and we all met. Miss Jackie let me out of the “dog pen” so that Gigi and I could get to know each other. There was a lot of sniffing going on and no one growled, which was a good sign. Jiffy talked to Mama who was sitting on the floor with her camera and she went over to Daddy Harve and let him pet her. We all decided that I would make a good friend for Gigi, who had lost her best friend Mayflower last February.
I wrote a book called “Jiffy’s Forever Home” with the help of Mama. Gigi wrote some of it. In the book, Gigi speaks in “blue” and I speak in “purple”. This way you can tell who is talking. The book is available in paperback through Create Space Store and Amazon. Mama is working on converting it to a Kindle book as well. The pictures in the book were all taken by Mama.
